BYU Family History Library Hours
Due to COVID-19, the BYU Library is currently only open to BYU students and faculty and is closed to community patrons. We continue to offer live webinars and other online content to assist in your research. You may also contact us for virtual assistance with family history.
The BYU Library, including the BYU Family History Library, is currently open to BYU students and faculty only, Monday to Saturday, 7:00 am to midnight. These hours are subject to change according to the hours of the BYU Library. We are currently closed Sundays. Guest computer logins are currently disabled.
The Help Desk hours are 8:00 am-9:00 pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am-6:00 pm Friday, and 10 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Saturday, except for the closures noted below.
The Missionary Help Desk is currently open as a virtual desk for walk-in student and faculty patrons from 10:00 am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday, except for the closures noted below. Additional virtual help is available remotely, as indicated below.
While the library services are currently limited, we are offering virtual assistance with family history. Contact us during regular hours with research queries or to arrange for a virtual one-on-one family history consultation.
Holiday and Semester Break Closures
The library will be closed for Christmas December 24-27 and New Years December 31-January 3 . Besides these closures, the hours during semester break are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with services limited to the Level 3 Help Desk, December 18-23, December 28-30, and January 4-9. Regular hours for student and faculty patrons will resume on January 11th.
